Kara is originally from Greenville, SC where her family remains active at Temple of Israel. URJ Camp Coleman is Kara’s second home having spent 9 summers as a camper and 3 summers on staff there. Throughout high school Kara was active with Central Spirit Committee, yearbook, Invisible Children, youth group, and NFTY-SAR. Kara had the honor of being elected to the 2011-2012 NFTY-SAR regional board as the Social Action VP and being a Camp Jenny co-director. As a Sport and Entertainment Management major at the University of South Carolina, Kara took an active role in Hillel, serving as the 2014 president, member of Phi Mu Sorority, and executive board member of Dance Marathon. Through Camp Coleman, Kara has been a part of the Olim Service Corps, 2014 Cornerstone fellow, and has worked the Cornerstone Seminar as part of the 2015 event staff team. Kara remains an active chaperone for NFTY-SAR and an annual adult volunteer at Camp Jenny. Kara joined The Temple team in May of 2015 and is excited to be a part of the education team.
