Social Justice at The Temple

The Temple is a premiere social action congregation in Atlanta as well as a model for the Reform Movement. We achieve this distinction through our wide array of mitzvah opportunities, educational programs, and community involvement, led by a partnership of professional and lay leaders and an engaged membership. We understand that it is the responsibility of every Jew to aid God in the work of tikkun olam, healing the world.

  • Rothschild Social Justice Institute- These small groups focus on the most important issues facing our society today.
  • Issues Advocacy – Periodically Temple members may receive materials and opportunities to take individual action on appropriate issues such as hunger and homelessness.

  • Mitzvah/Community Service Projects – This group organizes monthly service projects.

  • Special Initiatives: The Temple participates in a wide array of tikkun olam with a special focus on key issues that include our Racial Justice Education and Anti-Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking initiatives: Opportunities to make a difference with key partners include:

Fred A. Toomer Elementary School (FATE) in Kirkwood (65 Rogers Street, NE, Atlanta, GA 30317)
