Sunday, February 1, 2026 • 14 Sh'vat 5786
4:00 PM - 6:00 PMSchwartz-Goldstein HallThis year's Best Bets event will honor the memory of the late Barbara LeNoble‑Sheaffer — longtime, dedicated leader of Kulanu — who organized this event annually for a decade. Her passion and commitment helped make this gathering a beloved tradition for our community, and we are grateful to pay tribute to her legacy.![]()
Emory University film scholar Matthew H. Bernstein and Atlanta Jewish Times media correspondent Bob Bahr will return to present their Best Bets of the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival. The program, which highlights top choices for films at the festival, will include video previews of the films and a discussion of each choice.
Fresh hot popcorn will be served and we invite you to bring a bottle of wine to share with your table mates (suggest you bring a cork opener!). The Temple will offer water, coffee and tea.
Matthew H. Bernstein is Goodrich C. White Professor of Film and Media at Emory University, an internationally recognized film authority and a founding board member of the AJFF. He has also served as a board member of The Temple. Bob Bahr writes regularly about entertainment and media for the Atlanta Jewish Times. He has lectured at The Temple and is a multiple winner of the annual Simon Rockower Awards in American Jewish journalism.
