A Rabbi's Top Three: Rabbi Scott Sperling's Most Meaningful Liturgical Selections of the High Holidays

For Rabbi Scott Sperling, the three most meaningful selections for the High Holidays includes two traditional prayers, Kol Nidre and U'ntaneh Tokef, and one recent addition to the liturgy that is included in Mishkan HaNefesh, a positive spin on the confessional prayer, Al Chet. We'll look, listen, and discuss-- please join us! Rabbi Scott Sperling and his wife, Laura, recently moved to Atlanta. He had most recently served as the rabbi of Beth El Congregation of Winchester, VA from 2010-2016 and 2018-2020. In 2017, he was the interim rabbi in Frederick, MD. Scott was an adjunct professor at Shenandoah University from 2012-2019. His courses include Introduction to Judaism, Introduction to the Hebrew Bible and The History of Jewish Nationalism. He served as Interim Executive Director of the Association of Reform Zionists of America (ARZA) during 2009-2010. Additionally, Scott was Director of the Union for Reform Judaism’s Mid-Atlantic Council from 2001-2009. He is the father of a beloved Temple guest teacher, Eli Sperling. Zoom.
