Planned Giving
PLANNED GIVING
Planning a charitable gift is a wonderful way to express gratitude for The Temple and support its mission while achieving your own personal, financial, and altruistic goals. By planning ahead, you may be able to increase the impact of your gift to better serve the future needs of The Temple. In addition to the good feeling of giving, a planned gift is a meaningful way to leave a permanent legacy connecting you and your family to your spiritual home…The Temple.
- Bequests: You may name The Temple as a beneficiary of your will, either with a designated amount, a percentage, or a recipient of funds after other beneficiaries have received their bequests.
- Gifts of Life Insurance: Donors may support The Temple through a gift of life insurance. You may either purchase a policy or give a policy you already own. If you make The Temple the owner and beneficiary of the policy, your gift is deductible.
- Gifts from retirement plans: Donors of any age can make a deferred gift of an IRA or other retirement account by naming The Temple as a beneficiary of the account at their death.
- Charitable Trusts: A variety of charitable trusts are available that offer income and/or estate tax benefits to the donor.

Establish a Perpetual Annual Dues Endowment
A Perpetual Annual Dues Endowment (PADE) is a permanent fund dedicated to endowing your Temple Annual Dues gift. A PADE fund is not intended to take the place of current annual dues – instead it is lasting legacy that in perpetuity will continue to make an annual gift to The Temple on your behalf.
Make The Temple A Part of Your Estate Planning
A Charitable Bequest in your will establishes a means to create a permanent legacy. The Lynne and Howard Halpern Endowment Fund has been the beneficiary of bequests, large and small. There are many Planned Giving Annuities and Trusts available today for philanthropists of all means.
Members of The Lynne and Howard Halpern Endowment Fund Committee would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and your financial advisor or estate planning professional to explore ways in which you and The Temple might mutually benefit.
Contributions are tax deductible and may provide opportunities in one’s estate planning which benefit the donor, their family, and The Temple. All donors should consult with their tax and/or legal advisors when considering a planned gift.
If you have any questions about planned giving, please contact Jeremy Perlin, Executive Director, at 404-873-1731.
