The Temple’s Cultural Arts Committee creates exciting and diverse programming to reach every age group of our growing community. Examples include: family concerts, movie nights, open mic nights, cantorial concerts and Beit Cafes (Coffeehouses), featuring local and internationally renowned artists.

The Temple Music

Music

The Temple prides itself on providing musical experiences for every congregant, young and old. Our children learn traditional and new Jewish songs for every holiday and occasion whether they are in the WELC, BEC or our post-b'nai mitzvah programs. Adult music lovers have an opportunity to join our choir or our volunteer band. Whether you sing, play an instrument, or just listen, music is an integral part of our Temple community.

Shir is Hebrew for Song!

Shir Harmony

Grades 3-5
Rehearsals will be specific Sundays from 10:30-10:55. We will sing at the Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur Family services, and at other times during the year at The Temple, for community events and with other Youth Choir events in the Atlanta area.

Project Shir

Our teen community of musicians play at Shabbat services and during the High Holy Days.  In addition to providing musical experiences for our congregation, a subset of this group, called The Shir Show, provides monthly Torah and tunes videos for our members to enjoy.

The Temple Singers

Directed by Cantor Scher and Judy Cole, the Temple Singers are The Temple’s adult volunteer choir. The choir meets Tuesday evenings once a week from 7:00-8:30.  The Temple singers participate in Shabbat and holiday services and perform in the community.  One of the highlights of The Temple’s programming calendar is the annual Dr. MLK Jr Friday night celebration. New members of every level are always welcome. The only requirement is a love of singing!

The Temple Band

Shir Chadash is The Temple’s adult volunteer band. Shir Chadash plays on the third Friday of the month at Shabbat services, with a rehearsal before the service. In addition, Shir Chadash plays during Simchat Torah & other Temple events during the year. New members are always welcome. The only requirement is proficiency of your instrument.
