Director of Engagement & Communications
A native Atlantan, Kelli’s passion and expertise are at the intersection of programming, education, communications and marketing. Prior to joining The Temple staff in May 2022, Kelli was the Director of Program Support for a California-based international school operator.
Kelli started her career in marketing before becoming a journalist turned educator. She worked as a Washington correspondent, newspaper reporter and publishing company editor. Her beats included education policy, grant seeking and disability law. Kelli also spent nearly a decade in the classroom as a Montessori Upper Elementary teacher - guiding 4th, 5th and 6th grade students in Washington, DC and Atlanta. As an educational administrator for the largest Montessori school operator in the world, Kelli designed programs that reached thousands of participants, created digital content, supervised a sizable programs team, supported school launches, and coached teachers on classroom strategies.
Kelli received her B.A. degree in American Studies from Mount Holyoke College, a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University, a second master’s degree, in education, from Loyola University, a diploma from the Association Montessori Internationale, and a digital marketing certificate from Cornell University's Graduate School of Management.
Kelli is married to Roee Harran, an Israeli cellist, and they have a daughter.
