Shabbat Worship Service with Guest Speaker, Brendan Murphy

Join us as we welcome Brendan Murphy* as our special guest speaker during Shabbat Worship Services. He will be here to share the history of antisemitism and how it relates to us in this moment. We encourage you to bring family, friends, and neighbors for this meaningful and important conversation.
We will also honor our veterans during this service.
After services, join us for in Schwartz-Goldstein Hall to continue the discussion. Dinner reservations are closed but we will have a space for those who want to talk without dinner. If you want watch the service and host a discussion in your home, let us know by email and we will share with a discussion guide with you on Friday before Shabbat.
*Brendan Murphy is an educator at The Marist School for over 30 years. Brendan created a seminar class on the Holocaust in 1997 and that continues to be his main work to today. Recent awards in education include the Outstanding Educator Award from the Anne Frank Center in New York; the Anti-Defamation League’s Abe Goldstein Human Relations Award and Unsung Hero Award; Marist School's Goizueta Chair of Excellence Award, Faber-McKinley-Stadler Award, and the Frank Hagan Memorial Award; the Distinguished Service Award from the Georgia Independent School Association; the Educator of the Year by the University of Notre Dame; and in 2009 and 2016 the Georgia Outstanding Educator of the Year by the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust. Brendan is also a Museum Teacher Fellow at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC, and a Lerner Fellow at the Jewish Foundation for the Righteous in New York.
