Election 2024

Be a Poll Worker

Update: September 20, 2024

Many Georgia counties still have significant needs for more poll workers.  The need is particularly acute In Dekalb County, but other counties still have needs.  Without poll workers, we cannot have a functioning democracy.  If your schedule permits, please consider being a 2024 poll worker.

While poll workers are paid, no one ever signed up to be a poll worker for wealth or glory.  However, poll workers report that the job is fun, important, and fulfilling.  By becoming a poll worker, you will perform a vital function in ensuring that we have free and fair elections.
Poll workers must be U.S. citizens who are at least 16 years old.  They must reside in the county where they wish to work or a bordering county.  If they live in a bordering county, their county Board of Elections must complete a form agreeing for them to work in the other county.   All poll workers must participate in a training class.

Georgia’s early voting for this fall’s general election begins on Tuesday, October 15.  Election Day is Tuesday, November 5.  If you can work on some or all of these days, please consider applying with your county Board of Elections to be a poll worker.

The simplest way to apply is through the Power the Polls website: http://powerthepolls.com/truah
