RSJI: 2024 Elections Season: A Non-Partisan Update on Democracy and How to Preserve What Unites Us

Join us for a panel with distinguished guests, including panelists Dr. Alan Abramowitz, professor of political science at Emory University and an authority on American politics, political parties, elections, and voting behavior; Edward Lindsey, former Georgia Republican House Majority Whip, partner at Dentons Law Firm, and recent official with the Georgia State Elections Board; and former Mayor Shirley Franklin, first female mayor of Atlanta and the first black female to lead a major urban city in the South. Our moderator for the evening is Rickey Bevington, an Emmy award winning journalist who spent two decades as an award-winning television and radio broadcaster with Georgia Public Broadcasting, PBS Newshour, and National Public Radio (NPR). They will give us their most up-to-date analysis of how our democracy is faring under the current set of circumstances, along with advice on how to continue to preserve the values that unite us as a state and a country. Our interfaith community is encouraged to join us. If you have questions for the panel to consider, please submit them below with your registration.
