Wednesday, September 30, 2020 12 Tishrei 5781

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Join us for a multifaceted discussion to explore how a kernel of an idea grew into a transformational vision to shape the Atlanta Beltline, as well as how past and present infrastructure shapes our lives. We will take a close look at Ryan's work shaping the public realm so that it better reflects both who we are and where we want to live. From urban infrastructure to real estate development to the nation’s largest Confederate carving, he will translate themes like health, equity, and justice into the decisions we make about our world every day. Ryan Gravel is an urban thinker, designer, author, and builder. Best known for his master’s thesis and early work that launched the Atlanta Beltline, Ryan’s work centers on strategies for change that advance a broad, inclusive vision for communities. He was the lead creator of the Atlanta City Design, which designs the city’s inevitable change so that it grows into a better version of itself. And along with other projects at Sixpitch and his book, Where We Want to Live, Ryan investigates the cultural side of infrastructure, describing how its intimate relationship with our way of life can illuminate a brighter path forward for cities.. Zoom.
