RSJI: Reverse Tashlich - River Cleanup
Sunday, September 28, 2025 • 6 Tishrei 5786
It is not your duty to complete the work, but neither are you free to neglect it.
At the start of each Jewish new year, many Jews partake in the ritual Tashlich: a symbolic throwing our sins into the water. The Temple has partnered with Adamah to flip that symbolism, and participate in "Reverse Tashlich." As a way of removing our sins from the water, we clean up trash from the river.
September 28 is also World Rivers Day. This year’s cleanups are being organized as community wide interfaith gatherings. We are excited about this as it is a most important time to join our like minded interfaith partners in service work and as expression of our faith values to care for our mutual home and for each other.
The Temple is promoting the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper site, specific inside-the-perimeter cleanup location will be provided closer to the event, based on cleanup needs.
