Tuesday, June 16, 2020 • 24 Sivan 5780
1:00 PMIn honor of Pride Month join the RSJI LGTBQ+ Group, Taylor Baruchel, and Rabbi Kaye for an exploration of LGTBQ+ themes in our sacred texts. LGTBQ+ scholars have brought unique methods of reading Torah that opens new avenues of exploration into sexuality, gender, community, and cultural norms. Join Taylor and Rabbi Kaye as they present, debate, and discuss one of the great heroes of the Tanakh, and expand our vision of them in new ways. Taylor Baruchel is the Senior Jewish Educator at Hillels of Georgia and holds a MA of history and philosophy of religion. Her thesis work focused on questions of sex and gender in late antiquity, with a focus heavily in queer theory. Zoom.
