About Us
About Us
ShalomCare is The Temple Atlanta’s mental health initiative. Inspired by our senior rabbi’s call to action, Temple members, clergy, staff, mental health practitioners, and board members came together with the goal of reducing stigma and offering options to support optimal mental health. Because mental well-being is critically important to living a healthy, meaningful life and because there can’t be too many places to get help – there is ShalomCare!
Mission
Our mission is to create a supportive culture at The Temple and within our community with intentional programming focused on mental health. We seek to increase awareness, eliminate stigma, provide education, and advocate for expanded support around mental health within our community and in coordination with the broader Jewish community and its stakeholders.
Vision
We seek to improve mental health within our congregation and believe that this will have a ripple effect on the greater Atlanta community and beyond. We passionately believe in the importance of embodying the Jewish concepts of tikkun azmut (repairing the self) and tikkun olam (repairing the world).
Values

EducationEducation is powerful.
CompassionCompassion for the self and others heals.
PracticeMental and spiritual wellbeing is a practice.
